• I am an avid history buff. I homeschool our son Liam (currently a 9th grader) and a big part of our curriculum is traveling to new cities and states (to us!) – when we do we always check out historical sites. We are currently planning to visit all of the states and eat all of the food that the state or city is known for. I created a spreadsheet (yeah I am an ubernerd) with all of the items. I asked my friends on Facebook to make suggestions.
  • I can’t go to sleep at night without listening to books from Audible. I generally listen to the Great Courses lectures, German children’s books (I am trying to learn German!), history podcasts, and historical fiction. Audible is worth every penny. They have many originals and many of the books are free for limited times if you have a Plus account. AND you get credits for free books as well. If you are interested in trying it out please use my code.
  • I create websites and promote small businesses with social media marketing. One of the businesses is 518expos.com. The trio of 2 daughters and mother (Sandra, Mary and Angela Tizzone) has been organizing and promoting wedding expos for 40 years! It is free to attend for brides and grooms and their family members. My daughter, Jackie, and I work all of the expos – we check in the guests at the front door.
    • Did you know many newly engaged couples have been registering at Amazon? It makes sense since they will ship your items often for free if you have a prime account. If you are newly engaged check out the wedding registry department at Amazon and if you are in the Capital Region of New York State check out the free wedding expos organized by 518expos.com.
    • I actually made a Wedding Planner book recently after attending so many expos. I learned so much about wedding planning and I thought it would be a good resource for those that are newly engaged. It’s available on Amazon. This planner has spaces for your budget line by line, your guest list and whether or not they have RSVPed and the guest count, a suggested 18 month checklist, additional note spaces, expenses, a timeline of the day of order of events, and pages to staple business cards.
  • We are big fans of dogs. In January of 2024 we lost our family dog from cancer. His name was Luke and he was 11 years old. He was a pit bull/shepherd mix. He was beautiful and taught me a lot about love and, unfortunately, loss. We had never felt so much pain. My mother, Nicki, is 80 and has Alzheimer’s and lives with us was particularly distraught. So we decided to get a new dog in February. We adopted a boxer/pitbull mix named Reese from Out of the Pits. We highly recommend them.
