This book writing journey started when my niece Angela came over for Christmas. She is a newlywed and never had a lot of parental instruction about cooking. She asked me a lot of questions when I was cooking a turkey dinner for 12. She is not the first of her generation to ask me about feeding large groups of people. But then she started asking things like – how long do you cook it for? What can you do with leftovers? How long can you keep leftovers in the fridge? And it hit me – you can get 1000s of recipes online but you need to look 1000 places to get started in cooking. And you have to know what questions to ask. If this sounds like you then I wrote this book with you in mind.

This cookbook isn’t so much about recipes, as it is about COOKING. It explains so many things that in my early days I had to find out the hard way through trial and failure. The illustrations are lovely and it’s organized beautifully.

I tried to add a few recipes for entertaining such as ideas for charcuterie boards and simple items to share such as dips. And then there are some recipes for bigger nights – a whole chicken, a pot roast, and a pork tenderloin. I am really excited to share the book and the ideas and a few recipes that I use plus tips and tricks. I hope you like them!
