As someone with limited skills in the kitchen, I had been looking for years for a book that explained the basics of cooking and food prep in simple, easy-to-understand terms, and one that didn’t make me feel like an idiot for not knowing certain things already. Cooking With Love is exactly what I needed. It starts at the beginning and gets you up to speed in no time with a solid, foundational understanding of how to prepare a variety of different foods.

Especially useful are the Seasoning Combinations and Basic Sauce Ideas sections, which help you to make a number of variations of all the dishes you learn to cook. Here’s hoping for a Volume 2 soon, and this one is highly recommended.
